The Project

In the ILE Ilzer Land in Lower Bavaria various municipalities have joined forces to meet the challenges of the rural region. Together with its ten partner municipalities, the municipality of Ringelai has been selected as one under the “Model Projects Smart Cities” funding program. Called Hybrid ILE, the municipalities are working together under the motto “Hand in Hand in Ilzer Land: Becoming Digital and Staying Analogue Together” to tackle regional challenges with the help of a smart city approach.

The ILE views the project as an opportunity to strengthen the community and to make the region more attractive using hybrid solutions. As part of the funding program of the Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Construction, the ILE municipalities aim to focus on strengthening the town centers and community identity, increasing citizen participation and promoting regional value creation.

A crucial aspect of developing the smart city concept is the interactive and broad participation of all citizens and stakeholders of the region. For the participation process and data processing, atene KOM works together with its partners Polidia and the Data Competence Center Cities and Regions DKSR.

atene KOM responsibilities

atene KOM GmbH supports the ILE Ilzer Land with regard to the preparation, conceptual design, development and implementation of the Smart City Strategy. Furthermore, it takes over the conception, organization, implementation and follow-up of different event formats and collaborates in the participation and consultation processes.
